Record turnout expected for the first event of PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup
EDISON, N.J.- The Barclays tournament week begins in just a few days, and tournament officials are anticipating a sellout for competition rounds, Thursday, August 25 through Sunday, August 28. Fans will still be able to purchase tournament tickets for the Tuesday practice round and Pro-Am round on Wednesday. Tuesday/Wednesday tickets are also good for gaining admission to the Military Appreciation Day concert presented by Barclays, featuring country music artist Chely Wright on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the lawn in front of the main clubhouse.
The Barclays, the first of four events in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, visits Plainfield Country Club in Edison, N.J., for the first time, Aug. 23-28. Only the top-125 players in the FedExCup points standings through this week's Wyndham Championship will qualify for The Barclays.
"The response from the Edison community and leadership of Plainfield Country Club has been incredible, ever since we announced The Barclays would be coming here in 2011," said The Barclays Executive Director. "We always knew a sell out was possible, but I think the exciting competition over the past few weeks of the PGA TOUR Regular Season has brought even more enthusiasm from the fans who want to see the young stars on TOUR battle the established veterans here in the first Playoff event. It's going to be a great week for fans at The Barclays, as well as the hundreds of local charities that benefit from the success of the tournament."

Regardless of the sell out, The Barclays will honor its ticket policies as related to military and children 18 and under. The Barclays will once again offer complimentary admission all week for all active, retired and reserve military and their dependents. Those eligible can download free tickets by visiting
www.birdiesforthebrave.com and presenting their military ID and ticket at the gate. As for youth grounds admission, a ticketed adult can bring as many as three children (18 and younger) free of charge.
